Has the old ability to Password protect media from being cataloged been replaced by encryption?
I cannot find the password protection option anywhere and the only option I appear to have is to setup encryption. To me simple password protection would be fine and a lot less complicated. Encryption to me includes additional steps in the DR plan that could go wrong and I would like to avoid it if possible.

Encryption does replace the password feature. In A DR situation if the Backup server does not have the encryption key it will ask for the passphrase (just like asking for a password) so there really isn't any extra steps.

What if your applications that you are trying to restore do not de-crypt?
