    Hello,

A collegue of mine has been infected and compromised by trojan-pws.onlinegames.gen
This was not detected by endpoint protection but with pc tools spyware doctor.
Of course i have now been bombarded with  " why didnt endpoint find it "   as i swear by symantec that its the best, to my collegues.
Guess who has a red face now  :(

    Hi,

this question is really common in this forum... you can find a lot of similar discussions.
The answer is always the same: thousands of malwares are released every day and none of AV can provide a full protection from all of them, we try to catch most of them but sometimes the customer is faster than us. A cooperative customer should send us the malicious file discovered with other products and we will release the proper definitions.

    Regards,

trojan-pws.onlinegames.gen, I did a little research on it and the good chances are that the threat came in either through a malicious website or through a compromised game file. You have to make sure that you do your part while the AV does it's by not opening suspicious links or torrents on to your computer.

In that case u should have submitted the suspicious files to symantec and after the analysis they would have given u the solutin in form of rapidrelease.
