Patch 6.2 and Citrix or Terminal Servers -- Best Practices with Install Mode?

I've got an interesting question I can't seem to find a definite answer to.
Can Altiris safely patch Citrix (and terminal) servers as-is?
I've got a few people telling me yes it can, and others saying the server must be set to install mode prior to patching. I can't find any concrete evidence supporting either one of these theories.
Does anyone have any Citrix or terminal servers in your environment? How do you handle this? And does anyone have any links that have a definite answer on whether or not you need to use install mode?
You don't need install mode
Since the patch management system runs under the SYSTEM account it is essentially a console session. We have about 50 Citrix servers that we patch regularly with Altiris and do not need to make any changes to the Citrix environment prior to patching. I can't say the same for program upgrades as we typically have the Citrix team handle one-off application upgrades.
