    Hi All,

I've picked up that my machines weren't install patches, when i investigated all patches shows as pending, allthough it has a source location and it's downloaded scessfully.
I then discovered that my Qchain was not downloaded to the clients, nor did it have a download location.

Looking for qchain.exe on my server also resulted in emptyness...

After doing a repair on Patch Management (didn't work) i looked at my Qchain download policy, as shown in the attached screenshot, it displayed failures. By looking at the errors i saw that it was looking for C:\Program Files\Altiris\Patch Management\Pakcages\Qhain, the Qchain folder did not exist. I manually created the Qhain folder and started the import again, seconds later it completed, clients downloaded it and patches install succesfully.

Did anyone else have the same problem, is this a bug or is it just me who had this issue.

    Eugene

I've seen the issue (outlined in KB45931) however, qchain has always worked. I'm guessing you are upgraded to SP1 right?

    Hi,

I have seen this article and I have indeed upgraded to SP1, maybe this is just one of those you'll never figure out. :)
