Hello,

Every night a about 2 a.m. I am receiving the following errors on the Altiris Notification server 6.0 SP3 with CMS and Patch Management solution v. 6.2.3644:
===========================

Priority: 1

Date: 9/28/2009 2:13:37 AM

Tick Count: 579097765

Host Name: ENTCMS01

Process: aexsvc.exe (1324)

Thread ID: 7764

Module: AltirisNativeHelper.dll

Source: Altiris.AppMgmt.Tasks.WiseGetPackageCodesTask.ParsePackageDetails

Description: WiseGetPackageCodesTask - Failed to process package codebase. Id: MicrosoftBizTalkServer2002-KB971388-EN.exe Src: \\entcms01\NSSWD_MicrosoftBizTalkServer2002-KB971388-EN.exe$ Msg: Could not find a part of the path \\entcms01\NSSWD_MicrosoftBizTalkServer2002-KB971388-EN.exe$.

==================================================================================

The message repeats about 340 times whihc is equal to the number of all software delivery packages + software update packages (in other words for each package). However, the SWD solution and Patch management solutions seems to e working fine, meaning no problems delivering applications or patches to computers. Also, there are no pending packages on any of the Package servers.

Has anybody seen this? Should I woory? Is there an easy fix for it?

Thank you!
Peter

This is Application Management

not patch management. It looks lik you are trying to fix or validate a source path, that doesn't exist, or that Altiris doesn't have access too. See what tasks you have enabled for Application Management.

There are no tasks enabled in the Application management

Jim,

There are no tasks enabled in the Application management. In fact, we are not using the Application manageemnt and Task managemetn at all. Something else must be the problem.

Peter

Msg: Could not find a part of the path

Jim,

I think the main point here is this:

=====================================================================
Msg: Could not find a part of the path \\entcms01\NSSWD_MicrosoftBizTalkServer2002-KB971388-EN.exe$.

====================================================================

Why it cannot find a part of the path?

Thanks,
Peter

Ok, so it's not App Mgmt Solution

Do you use the Wise integration solution to import packages? Again, it's NOT patch management that is causing this, even if it is a patch package it's searching for. I do not have it installed, so you may have to call support if it can't be sorted here.

Wise integration solution is not used

Jim,

Altiris Wise Integration Component and Altiris Wise Toolkit versions 1.3.x are installed, but we are not using them at all.

Peter

If you look under resources

you can find all the security updates. Check to see if you can find this package, and adjust the source path or delete it. Or try running this script.
