Patch Management Solution

  • 1.  Patch remediation not showing data from child servers

    Hello,

We have an NS with 7 child servers and 7 site servers. So far we have about 90K agents checking in across the enterprise. System assessment is running each night on the agents and reporting back up to the child servers. Software update plug-in is deployed.

I'm wondering why the summary data being reported back only shows at the child level and not in the console of the parent NS where one would expect it to be. If I look at the Patch Management portal and then to Bulletins and Updates or Remediation Center...the "Applies to" column is not showing anything.

We do have hierarchy set up and it is sending report data. If I go to each child server, the patch remediation data is populated as we like. I just need to know why it isn't showing on the parent. I want the techs to be able to have one (not seven!) console view to see what patches need to be rolled out and what patches have been deployed already.

    Thanks for any help.

    Hi tloenhorst,

It is by design. Only one report on Parent shows data collected on its Child NSs - it is "Compliance Summary". Other reports(compliance by computer / update / bulletin, Software update summary, etc..) show only information about clients managed by NS, where report is generated.

    Please see attached screenshot.

    Thanks,

    Roman

Got it. I figured as much, but thought we may be missing something. We are going to end up doing a custom data pull to get it into a unified report. Thanks.
