Does it support patches for other application for example java and adobe, like the way it gives for Windows OS patches.

Only Rumor

I heard a rumor about possible support for some 3rd party application patching at my last user group meeting.  However, it was a rumor and continues to be until I hear something different.  I don't see anything in the documentation or see anything hinting of this currently in NS 7.  I took one more look at our NS7 notification server(s) and don't see anything other than microsoft, lunux and Novell patching currently.

Patches for Adobe

I read one knowledge base article 26511 for feature requested for modification in is installed rule and is applicable rule. I have also not found any addition feature in NS 7 for patch management other than Microsoft, Linux and novell. Software delivery is the one way  for patch deployment of java, adobe etc but having many complexities.

3rd party patching is on the

3rd party patching is on the way.  The goal is to have Adobe and Sun Java patching by end of year 2009 - this will be for the 7.x platform only.

Is this going to eventually include a large variety of 3rd party apps?
