  • 1.  Patching IncidentManagementSimple breaks SD

    Hi,

I have just applied tn SD.IncidentManagementSimple patch to fix the issue where tickets won't close under certain circumstances when custom data has been added.

I now cannot run the Sd.IncidentManagementSimple Workflow (i.e. do anything to any tickets) as this now requires Logicbase.Framework assembly 7.5.3001, which is not installed - the system currently has assembly 7.5.3000 installed.

I don't know how to fix this and dont want to start upgrading assemblies in case this cause other issues (like workflows looking for the 7.5.3000 assembly)

    Any help or advice?

    Thanks

    Steve

I believe this is caused by mismatches in your project's web.config file.  You can likely get it up and running again by updating any 7.5.3000 values you find in the web.config file (in the project's directory in the WorkflowDeployed\Release folder) to 7.5.3001.

The ServiceDesk 7.5 SP1 point fix article clearly states that you need to make sure you are running at least a specific build # of Workflow when you apply them. This is due to some of the fixes requiring both a change to ServiceDesk & to  Workflow to fix the problem.

You can use this link to download the updated build.

Indeed it does - Apologies. I'd assumed my predecessor in this project had upgraded rather than checking.

Thanks for the link - I note there are a lot of caveats about installing these patches, which doesn't instill a great deal of confidence. Are other things likely to get broken by installing these?

I've installed almost every iterative patch and version that was available since 7.5 began, and I'm unable to recall any major issues.  If the directions are followed, and the caveats minded, you will likely see good results.  Blind patching (as, evidently, your predecessor is guilty of) can get one into trouble with any number of software products.

I understand what you mean about the instructions being challenging at times.  If you would like assistance with a patch, please reach out here and I'm certain that the community will be happy to help you with the installation.
