Pausing the Email alerts when system maintanance in Netbackup 7 on LINUX

Created: 18 Oct 2011 | 3 comments

HI Experts,

I just want to check if there is any way to pause the email alerts when doing maintanance. The system keeps sending emails when doing a modifications or testing somthing. Is there a way to stop alerting (like restore failed, Restore done, backups done etc).

I am usign Netbackup 7.0 on LINUX.

Thanks,

surya.

There is no 'pause' option. Email alerts is either enabled or disabled.

Thanks Marianne,

What is the best option to disable all those at once? because i don't want to spam every one with the alerts when i am doing maintanance or testing.

If that many emails are sent, notification is probably set at Client level (Client sends mail).

Two levels of notification - failed jobs only or failed and successful jobs:

■ Send emails about failed backups only.
Send a message to the email address(es) of the NetBackup administrator(s)
about any backup that ends in a non-zero status. (Server sends mail host
property is enabled in Host Properties > Master > Universal Settings.)

■ Send emails about successful and failed backups.
Send a message to the local administrator(s) of each client about successful
and unsuccessful backups. (Client sends mail host property is enabled in
Host Properties > Clients > Universal Settings.)
