PB installing Recovery Solution 7 licenses
Hi,
We have purchased and prolongated RS 7 licenses but we received 3 licenses files with 3 different periods of validity for theses licenses. It's because each time we buy new licenses or we renewal licenses the validity is for one year.
So we have:
260 licenses => 2011 - 11
50 licenses => 2012 - 03
30 licenses => 2012 - 04
I know that the good method should be to prolongate the validity of some licenses so that the end of validity should be the same for all licenses but, before asking it to our seller, I would like to be sure that there is no possibility to fuse these 3 files so we could validate 340 licenses => 2011 -11 and in November prolongate theses licenses? I concatenated the 3 files in one file with no success.
Could somebody confirm it?

You will want to get whats
You will want to get whats called a combined license otherwise your total available licenses will only equal the total of the last license you apply.
On the Licensing portal there is an option to download your combined licenses. I haven't visited the portal site in some time, but this option was located on the right hand side of the portal page.

I connected to the license portal and registered my 3 licences files but I can't combine them.
The AUP date of all my licenses are started so I thought I could combine them.
I choose a license and click to "view details", then I click on "COMBINE LICENSES (English only)", but then, I don't know what to do. I have two options (file in attachment):
- The first option is to download all registered licenses files : If i do it, I get all the obsolete licenses files but not the 3 last good licenses files.
- The second option is to "Download Selected Licenses (Combined).On this window, It's like I should have to give the name of the company and the product but all is grey and i can't clic anywhere.
perhaps is it because one of my license files will time out at the end of October, which is less than 7 months (6 months) ? I read in the documentation :
The Maintenance assigned to the license is the lesser of the Maintenance dates assigned to the licenses being combined or 7 months from the day the license is being created. When licenses are created, the .txt files must have at least 7 months of Maintenance assigned or the license will time out. The LMP takes this into consideration when combining customer’s licenses and will not issue a key for less than 7 months.
Or is there something I had to do after registering my 3 licensing files ? That would explain why , when I download all the licenses files, I donwload only the obsolete license files.

I think you should contact Symantec licensing support as there is apparently some problems with license key associations for your company.
