This issue has been solved. See solution.

my problem is the following
To  install SEP client on host i access a shared folder on the SEP server where i save all the client packages (single file executables) and install the client.
sometimes at the end of the installation the computer freezes and i need to reset.

if i copy the setup file locally to the host and than install i dont have the above problem.

what could be the reason for this?

Thanks

hi

its a good idea to copy the file locally and then run the install
the file will get copied in cache and then gets installed; i think its because of that is freezing

It is always recommendable to copy the installation package locally then install.Because any small network issue will lead to installation failure..

My guess would be that it

My guess would be that it just depends on whether or not the server your pulling the install from is on the same subnet or not.

In the few experiences I've had installing over the network, they did not go well. Meaning the install took much much longer over the network (up to 45 minutes) while copying locally took about 5 minutes to install.

Even installing from a server on the same subnet took longer than installing locally.

I don't know exactly why, open a support case with Symantec to see what assistance they can provide, but as already mentioned above it is best to copy locally then run the install.
