We have recently completed a 250 user rolluout  to new systems. We used PC Transplant to migrate the users settings to the new systems, however during the process it seems that  one of our applications started to experience issues, we were un-able to run this application. We have uninstalled and tried to reinstall this application. Both times we would get the same error message.  This issues does not happen on accounts that did not have settings migrated, I have contacted the  software vendor and their developes are looking into this issue, they also suggested that I reach out to Symantec and see if there is anything on their end that can be done.  It seems that the only resolution is to build a new system and not migrate user settings.

The application we are having an issue with is Interactive Legal Suite, and we are getting the following error

An error has occured in .ctor:
System.InvalidCastException: Conversion from string "0" to type 'Long' is not valid. ---> System.FormatException: Input string was not in a correct format.

First- Has anyone experienced  this issue (or one similar) and how did  you resolve?
Second- If anyone has any ideas on a way we can workaround this issue, so that  we wont have to build a new machine everytime this application  is requested, please let me know.

First of all - are you able to examine the information captured by PC Transplant to see what is being migrated?  Presumably it is information relating to the application in question (which you fail to identify - is it an in-house creation??) that is somehow not going over cleanly.

Since you have migrated to new systems - have other parameters changed? New back ends? Different anti-virus or A/V policies/configuration? Different IE version?
    Different runtimes?

    Thanks for replying,
1- When building the template for the pc transplant, we have to the option to select which applications are captured, all available options were selected to ensure all settings were migrated. Of course the application we are discussing, Wealth Transfer Planning ( sorry, I thought  I put that in my original post) is not listed in the options. My concern is that even after uninstalling the product, we encounter the same error.
2-We did not have any changes to the backend during the rollout. I have contacted the application vendor (not in-house) and trying to schedule some time with a developer, to review.

3-Since this was an upgrade of hardware, we also decided to perform several other updates:

    • Windows XP - SP3
    • Office 2003- SP3
    • IE - 7
    • upgraded version of Mcafee 8.7
I hope that this provideds some additional information
