No changes made to host or remote,

When remote attempts to connect to host remote gets message CRYPTOAPI missing
and gets a failed connection attempt.

Wiresharking on host end shows attempt to connect.

Try one of the other encryption meathods.

Try one of the other encryption meathods.   Some times the microsoft crypto api can get corrupted.  I have seen this where it only is corrupted on one user profile.

To try to determine just where the problem is can you answer the following

Does every host that you connect to have this error?

Does every remote that connects to this one host have this error?

If you log into the remote windows machine as a new user does it have the same problem?

This will help to determine if it is just your machine or just your profile that is corrupt.  Assuming it is a corrupted crypto api.

Cheers.
