PCA - auto disconnect option?
Updated: 21 May 2010 | 2 comments
I had an incident recently where a PCA connection was accidently left open for a long period of time by one of my staff.
I am hoping someone can tell me if there is an option or preference that I have missed that you can set to auto disconnect the connection after a set period of time? If not does anyone know of a trust worthy 3rd party app that does a similar thing?

I thought I had almost
I thought I had almost answered my own question here, as I have just found and option against each specific connetion to disconnect after a specified idle time.
However, when I try to set this the option is not saving.....any advice?
Make sure you are makeing the changes on the active host
If you make any changed make sure that it is on the host that is set to start with windows. I have on more than one occasion made a change and got frustrated that the changes were not taking effect to figure out later that the changes were on host setting B and host settings A was the one that was running.
The setting that you are wanting just to confirm for you the correct setting.
From with in the pcA GUI
Right click on the host that is set to run and select properties. (to eliminate any confusion you can delete all the hosts but the one that you are actually using).
Navigate to the security Options tab.
Select the "Disconnect if inactive" box. Adjust the minutes as needed.
You will need to stop the host and then restart the host for this to take effect.
Cheers.
