PCAnywhere 12.5

Created: 07 Oct 2013 • Updated: 20 Dec 2013 | 5 comments

Once I upgraded to Windows8, I have had problems with PCAnywhere 12.5.  At best it would let me log on to my server and get about 50 keystrokes in before it would indefinitely hang.  This was very frustrating I tried tweaking PCAnywhere, and the windows registry but nothing really seemed to help.  Yesterday I downloaded a microsoft patch. "Windows Update 8 For x64-based Systems (KB2876415)" and now PCAnywhere is working great, just like before.  Since I upgraded to windows 8, I needed to keep a laptop running windows 7 in order to log on to my client sites.  This is a big improvement, now I'm a little concerned about upgrading to Windows 8.1.  I guess we'll cross that bridge on Oct. 18th.
