PCAnywhere 12.5 Remote Printing

Created: 31 Jul 2009 | 1 comment

I work remotely from the office. The host computer is running Vista Home Premium 64-bit operating system and my remote is running Vista Home Premium 32-bit operating system.  I have been trying to set up a remote printer to print reports to my HP Officejet Pro L7780 for the last 6 weeks.  This week I spent 2 days with Symantec support and was finally told it is a HP problem.  Them talked to HP and their position was Symantec is a third party software and they would not help me.The printer is running wirelessly and supports 2 computers within my home office.

I must be missing something in the set-up as this program was recommend to me so that I could telecommute from Florida to Texas and limit my travel.

From the KB in the link above

This defect is limited to pcAnywhere Host installed on the 64bit versions of Windows and is not seen on the 32bit versions. The pcAnywhere Remote can be installed on a 64bit windows as the limitation is only on the host side. Symantec is aware of this limitation and this kb will be updated as soon as any changes are available for this.

Hope they fix it.  here is the suggestion that I created that they get it fixed if you would like to vote on this it would help it rank higher.
