pcAnywhere error

This issue has been solved. See solution.

Recently we few nodes get this pop up instead of connecting to pcA agent on the host machine. The host machine we are trying to connect to does not show up in the list either. Has anyone ever seen this or have an idea what is causing it?

Does your host end with a .255 ip address?  pcAnywhere will only work if the host or remote address is in the range x.x.x.0 through x.x.x.254. pcAnywhere will not work if the host or remote address is x.x.x.255.

On the REMOTE machine create the following key.

32-Bits: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Symantec\pcAnywhere\CurrentVersion\System
64-Bits: HKLM \SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Symantec\pcAnywhere\CurrentVersion\System

2.       Add a DWORD value "TCPIPUse255" and set the value as 1.

When the registry value has been added and set to 1 pcAnywhere will no longer try to browse the subnet.
