Peer to Peer Ghosting

Created: 15 Jan 2014 | 1 comment

Hello all, this is my first post. I have Norton Ghost 11.5 & I am attempting to Ghost a laptop. It is an HP laptop, I have wiped it lcean & Installed Windows 7 from DVD. The installation create 100 MB MBR, the rest of the space is where OS & applications are installed (approx 230 GB).

I made 2 bootable USB with Ghost 11.5 copied on both sticks. Booted both the computers through USB, Ghost console came up. I selected peer to peer master on first laptop & peer to peer slave on second. Entered slave IP on master console & both laptops connected. I started disk to disk Ghosting & the setup completed without any errors but upon reset, the slave laptop came up with boot error. Looked like boot partition didn't copy. Is there a way to copy the whole image with boot partition from first laptop (master) to second (slave)?

Apologies if I posted my question in incorrect forum.

First of all, you are not using Norton Ghost, but Symantec Ghost Solution Suite, if you have version 11.5

Norton Ghost is a retail product supported in the Norton Community to which a link is available in a sticky posting at the top of this forum.

You failed to mention what settings you chose for your Ghost process.  Did you use Disk image or Partition Image?  Did you use any specific command line switches or did you just use the GUI ?

If your issue has been solved, please use the "Mark as Solution" link on the most relevant thread.
