PerfectDisk boot time defrag locked by v5

After numerous re-formats, uninstalls of v5, I can not get to Raxco's Boot Time deefrag, because the newest version of SEP locks it out and freezes the unit. I use XP Pro SP3 32 bit. Raxco has had a few notes about this and is stumped. This doesn't occur with any other suites - commercial or otherwise.

Many thanks for replies

Hi, Which components of SEP

Hi,

Which components of SEP client have you installed? So as you mentioned that SEP locks out the Roxco software, can you check if the event viewer has any details. Also, you can enable boot logging for that machine using the Process Monitor tool.

I am sure that the boot log will reveal important information regarding the cause of this issue.

Interesting as we also use

Interesting as we also use Raxco's PerfectDisk, and LOVE IT!
As I recall, however, we don't use the boot time defrag.
We have scheduled defrags when they reach the 5% threshold - those happen during the work day, and have the off-line defrags happen on weekends to defrag boot and system files, etc..
