  • 1.  Permissions not updating for users/groups immediately

    Not sure if anyone else is having this problem or if I'm doing something wrong, but I've noticed that when I am adding/removing permissions to different groups, the users within those groups aren't seeing a change in permissions.  I had one user whose permissions updated after 1 day and others not seeing the change at all.

    Our goal is to setup a Reports group that will have access to view reports, edit reports, create new reports, schedule reports, and basically have every permission there is for reporting.  I end up having to give Reporting Users admin access before they can have all access to reports.

     

    I ended up copying the admin group (permissions and all), removing one user from all groups except the newly copied group (called ReportsTEST) and removed one permission at a time from the new group having the one user log out and back in each time I made a change.  I realized things were definitely not updating with regards to permissions when I removed ALL permissions from ReportsTEST and the user still had access like an admin. 

    Should I be waiting x amount of time before testing the updated permissions or am I missing something?

    are you having your users log out/in after the changes are made?  if i'm not mistaken, permissions are evaluated at login and any changes require a logout/login refresh in order to update for the user.
