File Share Encryption

My Windows 7 laptop is encrypted using PGP Desktop 9.10. I've recently purchased a Windows 7 Phone and to allow me to update it, I need to connect it up to my laptop and update it via the Microsoft Zune software.

When you connect the phone for the first time, it creates a certificate in your Personal Certificate store.

However, Zune is saying that it cannot connect to my phone and the issue appears to be that no certificate is being created in my personal store.

Is it likely that PGP WDE is causing the issue?

My laptop can see the phone when connected and all apears to be working fine.

I don't see how using WDE would cause this.  Once the WDE passphrase is entered and the machine is booted, it should function the same as if it was never encrypted.

I think should is the key here. I know of another encryption app Spanish eDNI causing problems with Zune and uninstalling it resolved the problem. Unfortunately I don't have that option as this is a work laptop so I'm required to leave the encryption on it.
