File Share Encryption

Hi,

does anyone know what effects the default language of the PGP Bootguard? I have installed the PGP client in english but the Bootguard language and keyboard layout is in german. That is ok here in Germany, but for some users in the USA I would like to set it to english. Is that possible without using pgpwde.exe?

Have you checked BIOS settings?
Maybe it helps when the BIOS setting is english, too.

I can't find any language or keyboard settings in the BIOS. But it is in english.

PGP WDE is only a part of PGP Desktop.

The PGP Desktop package has a language code included which is possible to change after the export from the Management Server. Haven't seen any problems here which involved the language package settings. I would recommend to open a call for it in your support portal.

The PGP client gets its information for the language and keyboard layout from the user registry. That registry was for a german user and that was the problem.
