    Hi, I am using a lenovo x220 with win7 64bit.

Today when i boot up my pc, the screen freezed with the message "bootloader bootloader".

After some google search, i found out the bootg.iso, downloaded and burned. then boot from cd, works fine, lets me put my password and login to windows.

is there a solution for this? i tried to reboot without the cd but cannot pass through pgp. i do not want to reformat my ssd drive. tried searching in your forums but to no avail. please help me. thanks.

You may have already seen this Knowledge Base Article, but want to reference it in case you have not.  If you are booting with the correct recovery CD for your version of PGP, this CD boot could possibly have corrected your problem.  However, if you have already used the correct version, this does not appear to be the answer for you.  Using the correct recovery CD for your version to decrypt (or decrypting by attaching your disk to another computer with PGP installed for the decryption) and then re-encrypt may be the best course of action, if your whole disk encryption has previously been working properly.

The only ways to do the decryption that I am aware of are to use the correct version of the PGP WDE recovery CD, decrypting from within PGP Desktop if you are able to boot to the operating system, or via placing the disk into another compter (can use an external USB connected caddy) that has PGP installed.

@rajivshm What version of PGP Desktop are you running? This sounds like a problem that we had in the early PGP Desktop 10.1.x versions. I would make sure that your computer is on 10.2 or later (latest current today is 10.2.1 Build 4869).

im using 10.1.2 i believe. currently decryting it, already running for the past 4 hours and just 50% completed.

i believe i put my laptop to sleep, and then the next time i restart, i faced this. really troublesome. :)

unfortunately, my laptop lenovo x220 doesnt come with cd rom and does not support boot from usb. :(

There is this from the 10.1.2 release notes:

Resolved an issue that prevented users from accessing the PGP BootGuard screen to authenticate Windows
    systems. [28338]

    http://www.symantec.com/business/support/resources/sites/BUSINESS/content/live/DOCUMENTATION/3000/DOC3583/en_US/pgpDesktopWin_1012_releasenotes_en.pdf

But there is also the "Sandy Bridge issue" where newer i5 and i7 intel processors were not compatible with Bootguard.  This was not fixed until 10.1.2 Build 50 - service pack 3 (which you have to request from support) and also subsequently 10.2.0.

I would recommend, after decrypting, to upgrade your PGP desktop version and backup your files and then try encryption again.
