  • 1.  PGP Desktop 10.1 - boot to Windows7 - shutting down

    Hi,

Just installed PGP Desktop 10.1 and after the initial reboot was unable to login to Windows again.  The OS is Windows 7 (32-bit) and i'm running Sophos Safeguard 5.50.

The error is simply that once Windows boots, you authenticate and then get the warning Windows is shutting down.  I reverted to last known good config and removed PGP which fixed the issue.

I previously had issues with PGP 9.8 and Sophos Safeguard but was advised the dll file issues were resolved in 10.1 however it appears there is still an issue.

    Thanks

    Neil

I'm not finding anything about this being resolved.  You may want to try the resolution indicated in this Knowledge Base Article

thanks, although uninstalling Safeguard isnt as easy as it sounds as it will need to decrypt and then encrypt the disk...around 20 hours.  I'll leave it and look for an alternative to PGP...thanks for the reply.
