PGP Desktop Home 9.0.6 - not working on - Mac OSX 10.5.8

Created: 15 Jun 2011 | 1 comment

In 2006 I purchased a  "PGP Desktop Home 9.0 - Macintosh - Perpetual License". At the time I was running OSX 10.3 or 10.4 or whatever was the latest version of Mac OSX. I encrypted some important but rarely used documents on my Mac ( a PowerPC G5).

Switching forward to 2011 and this same PowerPC Mac is running OSX 10.5.8. PGP refuses to start. Every time I click on the PGP icon in the applications folder it attempts to start but then just crashes.

I need to decrypt some of these documents - what do I do?

Thanks in advance,

Ronan

Hi Ronan,

PGP Desktop 9.0 doesn't support Mac OS X 10.5.

We added the support in PGP Desktop 9.7.

Please upgrade to the latest version of PGP Desktop (currently 10.1).

Thanks.
