    Hi all,

I have a problem with PGP Desktop 10.3.2 MP9 when I try to send or receive e-mails.

After install the PGP desktop, synchronize the keys and send a few e-mails, my PGP Desktop stop and I can't use my Outlook.

But when I wait a few minutes, the PGP restore the connection with my Exchange and back to work.

Look the PGP logs and I see this error: MAPI proxy: CSrvComm::GetPublicKeyByKeyID failed with error connection not avaliable

I use Windows 7 with Microsoft Outlook 2013 and Exchange 2012.

    Thanks,

    Raphael

It sounds like there is an error retrieving the keys from a keyserver.  There are a few things that might change how to troubleshoot this:

Is this a standalone installation, or is it managed by a Symantec Encryption Management Server?
Do you have any additional keyservers listed in the client?  (Tools>Edit Keyservers...)
What message policies are currently active on the system?
Are all of the recipient keys in your local keyring?

Depending on your mail policy settings, you may want to disable the keyserver and see if that makes a difference.  If the keyservers are unreachable, it can cause issues like you are seeing.

    Hi Mike,

I test your suggestion and bellow is the answers:

Is this a standalone installation, or is it managed by a Symantec Encryption Management Server?

It's managed by a symantec encryption server.

Do you have any additional keyservers listed in the client?  (Tools>Edit Keyservers...)

Only Encryption Server and Global PGP Keyserver

What message policies are currently active on the system?

Mostly for encryption and signing buttons.

Are all of the recipient keys in your local keyring?

No, only on Encryption Server and Global PGP keyserver.

Depending on your mail policy settings, you may want to disable the keyserver and see if that makes a difference.  If the keyservers are unreachable, it can cause issues like you are seeing.

I’ll give it a try, it’s a local network, the clientes can ping the Encryption Server even during the problem happening.
