I encrypted my hard drive using PGP whole disk software, now when I try to boot my computer nothing happens. HELP!  I did get a message when I was encrypting the hard drive that there was some errors on the disk, but I ignored it and continued.  Any suggestions?

Please read all of this Knowledge Base Article.  You may need to try the WDE Recovery CD, or attempt decryption by attaching your disk to another machine with PGP installed.

If you have another machine with PGP Desktop installed, put the HDD in a caddy and decrypt it that way, the Recovery CD uses 16-bit encryption and will take a VERY long time

You could also use Windows PE off a USB memory stick and decrypt from that. Works just as fast as plugging the HDD in to another machine. This Knowledge Base Article should help. Just remember to boot your machine off USB instead of the HDD or CD/DVD.

Thanks for all the response's, but  I am not able to access my boot sequence, and I will need a bootable floppy disk to boot from. The computer that I am trying to use has an older version of PGP 9.?. My current computer has 10.1. So I cannot decrypt from other computer. If I had a bootable floppy, maybe I could use a DOS command to decrypt?

While it is stressed that you must use the same PGP version when decrypting with the PGP WDE Recovery CD, I've not heard of any problems with using a newer version on another computer to decrypt the disk.

If you can boot from a floppy, surely you can get to the BIOS (before the PGP bootguard screen) to enable booting from CDs and/or USB devices, depending on the age of the BIOS/motherboard.
