  • 1.  PGP Desktop Professional installation if PGP WDE is already installed

Hi, I already have PGP WDE installed in my laptop, but I'll need to install PGP Desktop Professional for email purpose. I'm wondering if I need to uninstall PGP WDE before, or if it will be seen as an upgrade. Thanks.

The PGP Desktop package is the same software despite which components you  license for use.  You can only have one license in use at a time, so you are wanting to upgrade your license.  I'd suggest talking with Sales or Customer Care to identify what license you need for your intended use.

To be more precise, I'm working for a Corporate that furnish us with PGP WDE, but not for email, and the "License" field is locked. So, we can not change the license number. We are a small group that needs email encryption also. Can we install PGP Desktop Email over PGP WDE, or, as your previous answer, it is the same problem and it can only have one license in use at a time. Thanks.

Both WDE and PGP Messaging are components of PGP Desktop.  So you already have the software for email encryption for both installed.  It is a licensing problem that you need resolved.  Simply reinstalling the software will not help with this.   Perhaps your corporate IT department that is responsible for locking your licensing can assist you with obtaining and using the license you need.  It would seem that they are purposely preventing you from changing the license on your own.
