I have a PC running Windows XP with PGP Desktop v 9.x, The PC recently failed due to a bad mother board. The HD itself is fine, so I have full access to all of its contents. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of never exporting the PGP Private Key as a back-up. So my question is this, is there some way to recover the PGP Private Key directly from the HD without having to boot Windows XP to run PGP Desktop?

You can copy your private key ring:

    %USERPROFILE%\My Documents\PGPsecring.skr

And then import your key from it.  You should then go to your key in All Keys and set Trust as Implicit.

    Tom,

    Thank you ever so much!

I was actually worried there for a moment.  smiley
