PGP Encrypted Backup Drive Recovery

    Hello,

I have PGP Desktop 10.1.1 installed on an HP Slate 500 running Windows 7 Pro. So far, so good. The performance was more or less unaffected. I have a SQL Express database which will need to be backed up whenever the unit is connected to the docking station. No problem there. I have bought a new 40gig external drive to store the SQL backups, which will also be encrypted via PGP Desktop b4 storing data. If I drop (destroy) my tablet (it's quite slipery you know) and it dies, what are the steps to use this backup drive on a new desktop encrypted instance? I know very little about PGP, but here is my first stab:

    1) Before I drop it, create a boot disk

    2) Drop and destroy tablet

    3) Buy new tablet, use boot disk, and off I go.

At a 50,000 ft level, does this seem about right? In short, I could care less that the tablet has died, but the backup SQL data is of utmost importance.

    Any insight would be awesome!!!!
