When creating a PGP .exe file, does the resulting encrypted .exe file contain any user ID details such as name of computer of license-holder etc? I suspect this is unlikely but I would be interested to hear.

    Hi lordbeau,

I think that by PGP .exe file you mean the SDA (PGP Self-Decrypting Archive).
The PGP Desktop / Symantec Encryption Desktop (SED) shouldn't be adding any particular metada according to a quick test I've made.

Thus, my conclusion is that, unless the original file contains some "standard metadata tag" where that data is stored for some other reason, it shouldn't be available after extraction.
The client has no usage for this, its purpose is encryption.
