  • 1.  pgp -m command doesnt disply content

    Hi,

Im using the pgp command to decrypt some files in the AIX machine.

I need the content to be displayed in the screen, rather than moving to a file and I use this command :

    pgp -zpass_phrase -m encrypted_file,

It displays the content for small files, however it doesnt display for large files.

Is there anyway to view the large file contents using -m , without creating the plain text file.

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards,

    Agathya

PGP Command Line, as produced by PGP Corporation (and Symantec Corporation) does not take a "-m" arugment, nor "-z".  What version are you using?  I suspect it is a very old version that is was never supported by PGP Corporation (at least since it was spun out from Network Associates) or Symantec.

    Hi David,

Thanks for the response. Yes, you are right.

This is a old version. pgp 6.5.2.

Could you please suggest some options for addressing this issue.

    Hi,

Unfortunately I don't know where you can get support for that old version.  I don't even know how you might be able to get an update to a later version of 6.5.X; Network Associates (now McAfee, now Intel) has announced that they are ending sales and support of their version of pgp.

You might consider buying a copy of PGP Command Line from Symantec (which is still supported), or looking into other OpenPGP solutions.

    Regards,
