    Hello,

I saw in the document that Netshare doesn´t provide access control for the folder with netshare.

"Caution: PGP NetShare does not provide access control for the files in a Protected Folder. Because it is file-level access control, anyone with access to the files in a Protected Folder can add new, unencrypted files and/or remove existing encrypted files. This makes it important that you establish your Protected Folder in a secure shared space; but it also means that your network administrator can back up the files in the Protected Folder without being able to read them."

But i tested and it blocks the access of users that had windows access on the folder but not have on the netshare configuration.

Someone know how to fix this problem?

Ps: Im using pgp desktop with universal server.

    Thanks in advance.

I think i found the reason..

It only happen when I try to acess with computer that has the agent installed. When I try without the agent istalled its normal and I can access.

The agent try to decrypt the netshare folder and if it doens´t find the key it block the folder. But it shouldn't do that, right?

    Thanks,

Documentation its saying, "ok, you can encrypt the files, only pgp users with valid keys can read. But depending on shared folder permissions (windows) , anyone may be able to modify the files (although they are not able to read them)

I agree with you , if the folder is not encrypted , pgp should not block the access.

What happen if you access directly to the folder using \\server\folder

Doi you see any useful information in pgp logs (tools, view logs)
