PGP Netshare Universal Installation

Created: 08 Mar 2012 | 2 comments

Hi All,

I am trying to install PGP Universal Server. I downloaded the product through the Symantec FileConnect site and now have a file called PGPUniversal3.2.0.pup on my RedHat Linux desktop. If you double click the file you see an updates folder and then click through that you see a bunch of rpm files. What do I need to do in order to install the product? I tried looking through the PGP Universal Install Guide and it assumes I have the DVD and can boot to the DVD.  I am a newbie with Linux so please bare with my lack of knowledge with Linux installs.

Thanks again.

pgp universal server is not a stand alone install that can be installed on a linux server

you have to download the ISO of pgp universal server, sometimes labeled as FULL installer. The iso will install linux and setup pgp universal server all in one go. I suggest reading the PGP Universal server admin guide.

Ok. I'll try and find the right download.
