    Hi!

I have an issue with PGP pass. I have changed Windows Password, shut down computer and now I forgot new pass (or maybe I mystaped the password when I've changed it). Old Password is not working.

I have asked local IT Administrator to reset my Windows Password , but PGP with Windows is not synchronizing.

Should I still wait maybe they will syncronize or should I submit a ticket to Symantec on this issue? If so, where should I submit the ticket?

    Many thanks!

    Hello There,

Symantec PGP doesn’t synchronize the password with Active Directory server, it refreshes the password after next login/restart when changed using Alt+Ctrl+Del option.

Is your Symantec Encryption Desktop (SED) is managed by a Symantec Encryption management server (SEMS) ? And has version of 10.3.2 installed on system ?

    1. Try to login PGP pre-boot authentication screen (bootguard ) using your OLD windows password, This will work if SED hasn’t yet refreshed your NEW windows password,

    2. Contact your PGP WDE administrator and opt for WDRT token from server to use at bootgard screen.

If your SED is not managed by Encryption server, you can use disk WDRT token which was prompted to you at the beginning of encrypting your DISK.

Please note that This WDRT token for un-managed Symantec Encryption desktop is only available from version 10.3.2.

    Thanks...

    Hi Arif,

    Many thanks for the help.

    1) Old Pass does not work.

    2) I have requested a WDRT token  as you recommended. PGP versions is 10.3.2

When using Single Sign On, the passwords should remain in Synch if the Windows password is changed using Ctrl-Alt-Del for the change.  Otherwise they should synch on a second reboot.

The issue was that I could not pass the starting grey window when PGP is asking for Password. Old Password was not working and PGP did not synchronized with our local domain for new Password.

I have requested WDRT Token as suggested by Arif.

    Problem solved.
