PGP public keys (solved)

This issue has been solved. See solution.
I'd like to start by stating that I'm pretty new to PGP Desktop and PGP commandline.
I need to know if a Public PGP Key can be shared with multiple individuals within a department. then we can have multiple people accessing a return file (that is PGP encrypted), so if someone is out of the office, other employees can still retrieve the work.

I'm not a PGP command line user, so can't be of much help regarding command line usage. But I can tell you that public and private keys can be shared. Anyone in the world can have your public key, because it is only used for encryption and signature verification - it has no use in decryption and making signatures, which is what the paired private key is used for. It is not recommended that you share the private key, because it makes it more likely that the private key (and the date it can decrypt) will be compromised. But some settings consider the convenience of doing so important enough to them to take this risk.

Thanks Tom, and if I did want to share the private key with colleagues incase I’m out how would I do that?
