    Shredding Files with PGP Shredder - PP Desktop 10

    Documentation for PGP Shredder says it "overwrites your data with random text. It repeats this multiple times or passes.

    The PGP Shredder alows setting for 3 passes up to over 40 passes.

    Can someone tell me what the random characters are:  maybe (in the 3pass scenario)  a character, its complement, then with a random character?

    What about in the 11 pass scenario?
