PGP Single eMail Message Encryption

  • 1.  PGP Single eMail Message Encryption

    Hello,

Im new to PGP i hope someone can help. We currently use the full management server model. We have a rule base where by certain users who meet the criteria have all emails sent out encrypted.

I have a request whereby i have a user that doesnt have email encrypted. This user needs to send one email, to a specific external address. The email needs to be encrypted. The external recipiant also uses PGP and has provided us with a key. What would be the simplest way to set this user up to send one email?

Would we be better off setting up a policy that catches all emails with a certain subject and encrypts them and then the external recipiants simply access them via the web portal?

Any ideas would be greatly appriciated,

    Thanks

    Hi Mrc2010,

If you have PGP desktop installed then there are multiple options available to achieve this:

    1.  Configure User Mail Policy for Encrypt and Sign Buttons, using the below article.

    https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.HOWTO42124.html

If you want an email to be encrypted, press Encrypt button before sending an email.

    1. Set up a rule based on Subject line, Eg: Encrypt all email with PGP in subject line.
    2. Setup a rule based on the recipient email address, such as all email to this address will be encrypted.
    3. Setup a rule based on recipient domain.
