Installed PGP Desktop 10.1.0 on new work laptop and did whole disc encryption now laptop won't boot up, it briefly shows the PGP screen then screen goes black with a flashing cursor at top left side.  I've followed instructions elsewhere in the forum and made a bootable image CD but using this only takes me to the PGP screen with a message saying 'PGP Recovery disc press any key to continue'.  Pressing any key returns me to a black screen with flashing cursor at the top left side.  Please advise.  I don't want to (probably aren't capable of!) removing the HDD from my new work laptop to see if I can link to old work laptop which still has the same version of PGP installed.  Thanks.

You can attempt decryption by using a disk casing with USB attachment to another computer with PGP installed.

But that would mean removing the HD from the new laptop wouldn't it?  I can't do that as it's a brand new laptop and would invalidate the warranty.  Have you other suggestions please?

This is a better recommended solution anyways since the PGP Recovery disk is running in a 16-bit mode and that will take days on modern hardware.
