  • 1.  PGP WDE How to find installed license serial number

    Posted Mar 29, 2011 04:19 PM

I have two PGP WDE licenses, installed on two different Windows Computers for some time. Both are working fine.

I am trying to figure out which license I have installed on which computer. (It has been a year since I installed.)

If I bring up PGP Desktop and click on Help License,  I see no license or serial number, only a Software Insurance Expiration Date.

My two computers have the followimg:

"Desktop" shows Software Insurance Expiration: 3/12/2008 ; "Laptop" shows Software Insurance Expiration: 2010-04-30

I have two licenses, looking at License Details I see that:

One License (......3575) shows End Date of 03-11-2009; The other License (......3866) shows End Date of 05-01-2011

It would seem that the license -3575 is installed on Desktop and the license -3866 is installed on Laptop. Is this correct and is there any other way to verify which license is on each computer?

I want to add PGP WDE to another, third, computer so I need to purchase another license or take from one of the computers I already have.

    Regards,

    T

I think you might need to contact Customer Care if you want to be certain:

    https://customercare.symantec.com/app/ask

    International: 407-357-7600
    United States & Canada: +https://support.broadcom.com or 407 357 7600
    United Kingdom: 44 (0) 870 606 6000
    France: 33 (0) 155 69 50 70
    Germany: 49 (0) 69 95 08 62 93

Personally, I wouldn't worry about it, and would use the license that appears to be correct.  It should install and work fine.  If you see that you used the wrong one, you can then change to the correct one.
