  • 1.  PGP WDE installation error

    I get the error message "PGP cannot complete setup due to a missing system configuration setting.  Please see the PGP Desktop log for details."  However, I cannot find a PGP Desktop log file to see any details.  I have uninstalled and tried to reinstall multiple times.

    This happens immediately after the reboot following the installation.

    Anyone know what might be causing this error?

    The log wil be in %APPDATA%\Roaming\PGP Corporation\PGP\ there should be a few in there, either attach or paste them or look through them yourself to see what went wrong

    Found the log file based on your help.  Error is shown below:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders\AppData appears to be missing or empty.  Please correct prior to attempting enrollment.
    *A 17:45:02 ----- PGP Desktop stopped -----

    I checked my registry and did not have "...\User Shell Folders".  Had someone else with PGP working fine check his registry and he had the User Shell Folders.  I copied the content of his User Shell Folders and imported it into my registry.  Rebooted and PGP now works.
