Hi, I have a question about licensing PGP. I've found a position in Symantec price list:

SYMC PGP UNIVERSAL SERVER AND WHOLE DISK ENCRYPTION FOR SERVERS 10.2 XPLAT PER SERVER BNDL STD LIC REWARDS BAND A BASIC 12 MONTHS 25LHXZF0-BI1RA

From other side I've checked that following Symantec PGP WDE software support Windows 2003 and 2008 servers from version 10:

SYMC PGP WHOLE DISK ENCRYPTION WITH UNIVERSAL SERVER 10.2 XPLAT PER DEVICE BNDL STD LIC REWARDS BAND A BASIC 12 MONTHS BG3QXZF0-BI1RA

The second position is near ten times cheaper than the first one.

Question - what is the purpose of PGP WDE license for Servers ?

    Regards,

    Slawomir Pyrek

Those would be questions better directed at sales honestly. technical support is not educated on the different SKU's. I don't see anything blaringly obvious between the two different options.

one thing to keep in mind also, basic support only gives you the option to use the forums for support. You cannot call and speak to a live person and have your issues resolved promptly. if that is something that you are okay with and feel confident that you can support PGP all by yourself, then that might be the way to go. Otherwise, I would recommend purchasing Essential support.

my guess is the top sku is PGP universal server + PGP Desktop and the second sku is only PGP universal server.
