PGP won't encrypt an additional hard drive that I am using.
After fighting the great fight against the beast known as Windows, and after having successfully obtained my files from my earlier encrypted external hard drive, I find myself unable to encrypt a second HD that I have installed on my desktop.
My main drive is, of course, C Drive. This second drive is F Drive. When i try to encrypt is via PGP Desktop, an error message pops up saying, "The disk does not appear to have a valid volume. PGP Whole Disk can only encrypt disks with at least one valid volume."
When I click on My Computer I can see my F Drive. I can ever save stuff onto it. When I go into disk management I also see the drive. i even deleted it and then restored the volume. And have also restarted my computer.
No joy.
Can someone please help?
Thanks!
p.s.
I checked the knowledge base but could only find this article http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH149620&actp=search&viewlocale=en_US&searchid=1326500084538
However, my computer does not use this turbo boost feature as far as I know. Additionally, I was able to encrypt several other hard drives before with the same computer / software before I did my reinstallation.
