  • 1.  PGPDesktop10.2.1MP4_MacOSX custom install option broken?

    Posted Oct 02, 2012 02:39 PM

I downloaded the current version (PGPDesktop10.2.1MP4_MacOSX.tar.gz) but the custom install option will not allow me to just install PGP without WDE anymore. There is a checkbox for WDE but clicking on it willnot deactivate it.

I had massive problems with WDE last year and do not want it on this machine (Mac Pro with OSX 10.7.5) but I would like to install the other current PGP components like I was able to with PGPDesktop10.2.0MP5_MacOSX.

    Any suggestions?

I just tested this on my 2011 MacBook Pro with PGP Desktop 10.2.1 MP4 and it allows me to uncheck PGP WDE.  Are you using a managed client or a standalone client install?

Okay, I tested this out with the latest - 10.2.1 Mp5 and I cannot uncheck the option to use WDE either. But i found a workaround. Please read the following KB article that I have created:

PGP_Ben thanks for looking into this. Your link is not working though.

Also I hope your suggestion (whatever it is) will workwith 10.2.1MP4 as well since my thatt was the last version under my subscription. (I only update when I have major OSX changes.)

It's been a month and that link is still dead. I'd really like to know what the workaround is.
