Ping request time is 15ms within the LAN with SEP 11.0 MR4 as well as SEP 11.0MR4MP1.
Hi,
WE have deployed SEP 11.0 MR4 as well as SEP 11.0MR4MP1 on 80 machines with NTP enable.
The systems are Windows XP SP2, XP SP3 & Vista.
We have noticed that the ping request time is 12ms within the LAN. However when we disable NTP, it comes down to 1ms.
We have tested the same with SEP 11.0 MR3 and we didn't face any such issues.
Already case has been logged in Symantec [Case 320-170-810] and as per them, its a known issue. They have created an incident number (1510782) for the issue and the same will get rectify in SEP 11.0 MR4 MP2.
However we didn't know when this new MR4MP2 will get officially availlable. We need to deploy SEP 11.0 on accross 18,000 machines and if each and every build has major issues then Mangement would prefer to change the product anytime.
"Symantec Team " , please test the product thoroughly before making it available for the customer. We are one of the largest customer for Symantec in INDIA and they will loose the deal if there are such stupid issues in the product.

SAM

You may be the largest customer base in India but I dont agree with you.
It all comes for a price.
Doesnt the Rtvscan.exe , Smc.exe use CPU ?
Why do you prefer to ignore that? Probably because you understand how it works. Care to understand teefer2.sys as well?
HI,
Fully agree with you on the other issues as well... But didn't mentioned them as they are already been addressed by lots of members here in forum...
Even the most of the rtvscan.exe gets stop atumatically and then after couple of minutes it starts off automatically.
Case been already open in symantec, but as usual they said to monitor the system if the problem re-occurs again and send them some logs as soon as the problem occurs.
Shall we sit in front on the screen every minute to observe the re-occurrence of the issue?? :smileymad:
Let see, what comes more here...
Rgrds,

Noticed it here also. It normally is under 1 ms but now around 15. Thats odd. Should cause that much delay in the traffic.
