the problem with 4 daily backup , three jobs working fine only one  job not working" Exchange Database Daily Full  " the status " Queued " and take more than 15 hours and nothing happened.

I replaced the tape in slot 23 with another new one  "LTO043L4 " ,after that the tape disappear from slot 23 and now slot 23 empty!!!

...does it still queue if you run it manually by itself? Also, there might be a prompt to respond too...right-click the job and choose: Respond to Alert. See what it gives you.

Thanks!

Please insert overwritable media into the robotic library using the import command.

Overwritable media includes scratch, blank, and recyclable media. Please note that depending on the current Media Overwrite Protection setting, imported and allocated media may be overwritable as well. Consult the online help for more information on overwritable media.

...so that's your issue. Either your tape isn't overwritable/appendable or there are no scratch tapes in the library, or your APP/OPP settings are incorrect for your media set.

You can test this by putting in a scratch tape (or erase a tape) and if it works then your APP/OPP settings on the media set need to be reconfigured.

Thanks!

The tape is in the tape drive (IBM1) and is currently being used.  See your second screenshot.

When your job is done with the tape, the library will return the tape to slot 23.

Hussain: If the tape is placed in the tape drive (you can see what tape is in there!) then Slot 23 will be empty, and pkh's explanation stays a perfectly valid one!

Thanks!
