Polcy run results being blocked by firewall

If I have an agent that due to firewall rules can recieve a policy run request but cannot send anything back to the manager, is there any way to manually upload the results into the manage.

Manually uploading the files is not the solution to your problem. You can manually copy the files from agent machine and put them on the manager. But the problem is, finalization activity (which analyzes the agent data and stores the result) will not get called. Unless that is done, Agent status will not be 'Complete'  and due to this policy run will not be 'Complete'.

 

If you are using ESM 6.5.3 SP2 or lower, you have to modify the firewall settings so that agent can communicate to the manager.

 

Good news for you: You can get rid off above modifications in the firewall settings if you use ESM 9.0 version. In ESM 9.0, manager is pulling the data from the agents (provided agent is also ESM 9.0).

So that there is no need to modify the firewall settings for agent to upload the data on to the manager.
