    Hi,

We recently had to create a new policy within SEPM for a number of Windows 7 PC's in order to disable the Internet Email Auto-Protect. I created a new group for computers, amend the policy for just this group and then moved the computers into the group. We then requested a Update Policy.

The policy has been applied just how we wanted it to but we now have an issue:

The status of the shield located in the Task Bar now has a Red dot on it and not green, also when we open it Symantec complains that it has mutliple problems in that the Internet Email Auto-Protect and Outlook Auto-Protect are disabled. We know they are and it is intentional.

Is there a way to remove this message (without hitting fix as this results in the policy change being overwritten and the protection being enabled again) and alo to have the dot return back to Green so we can tell whether there are issues connecting to the SEPM server.

    M

Close the lock within the email/Outlook auto-protect section of the policy. Just make sure all the locks are closed within the policy. This will change everything back to green.

By closing locks it ensures users cannot edit settings. This is why it shows red for you, it's more of a warning that let's you know users can make changes.

Brilliant, hadn't realised what that lock actually did until now.
