  • 1.  Pop up blocked on appcenter secure web app

    Hi Guys,

    Im now working on a PoC and currently encountering tssue with pop-up msg on appcenter’s secure web app. Here’s a sample weblink I tried to wrap using appcenter

     

     

     

    Web URL : http://ip address/altiris/console/

     

    1.       Without wrapping and just accessing the URL via safari, the windows auth pop up msg appeared

     

     

     

    2.       But when I wrapped it as a secure web app using a policy where device storage is allowed,  encryption is turned off and no auth required. This pop up window didn’t appear. I also tried to mix and match policies but still  arrived the same result. 

     

     

     

     

    Is this is a known bug on the appcenter as I cant find any KB article related to this. I have attached the logs from iPhone configuration utility, here are Nukona logs inside the ICU logs..  To add, I tried to deliver the URL   as an ordinary web app and  the auth pop up window appeared.

    Hello Mark,

     

    I am currently running tests on several App Center instances against this issue. Please let me know what type of AC distribution (SaaS or on-prem) and what version your are currently running. (ABOUT from AC UI will provide this detail.)  Lastly, is this Notification Server always up\running? Please feel free to email me directly @ charlie_melega@symantec.com if you prefer.

    Hi Charlie,

    My AC is on-premise running on v4.0


    This altiris console is always up and runnning. I only use this as part of the test for the fact that this URL requires popup authentication.

    Ive got an advise from PM that AC Secure Web App - by design, blocks pop up windows. From a security standpoint, that is a good practice but there are instances such as in this case wherein the pop up window is required in order for the mobile user to access the site.
