refer the following document

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH49563

check the following lines

"During operations such as backups, a Backup Exec for Windows Server will first communicate to the Remote Agent on the static listening port (control connection) and then pass data back and forth using dynamic (ad-hoc) ports that are either random (by default) or can be configured to use a specific range. ' The port used by remote agent is by default 10000 which  you change . Have look on the following as well tools--Options-Network sna security ..

To install remote agent you need

  • File and Printer Sharing
  • Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) and also  Port 445 which is for netbios
